Kindness Kit #4: Gratitude
Now that we’ve practiced finding gratitude in our own lives, it’s time to take action and
show our gratitude for others.
Below you will find directions to complete your service project(s)!
Service Project #1: Thank a Teacher!
Teachers and other essential workers always deserve our gratitude, but perhaps they need it now more than ever. As we transition to the “new normal” of virtual classroom learning, teachers are working so hard to meet all of their students’ needs in new and innovative ways. They are amazing! Here are a few projects you can do to show you are thinking of them and appreciate all they do:
Idea #1: DIY Teacher Appreciation Gifts
Watch the video below to learn to make this adorable teacher appreciation gift. Take a photo to share with your teacher over email until you can see each other in person again!
Idea #2: Send virtual thank you gifts
Click on the images to print these and other teacher appreciation gift tags. Buy an egift card and attach tags signed by your child to an email.
Idea #3: All about my teacher
Have your child fill out this All About My Teacher form (click on the image to print - there are versions for both male and female teachers). Scan it or take a photo and send to your teacher via email! There is something so sweet about the kids’ answers in their own handwriting. Your teachers are sure to love it!
Service Project #2: Thank Essential Workers
Idea #1 Write a note of gratitude in chalk outside a Fire Station
idea #2 Show your support for our community helpers by leaving them a note!
Use these free fun coloring pages provided by Oriental Trading- Learn about these important people and show gratitude at the same time.
Color one printable coloring page or color them all!
Hang them in your window at home, leave a copy in your mailbox for the mailman, or mail them to essential workers you know.
Each page includes a fill-in-the-blank note that your child can fill out to express why he or she appreciates each community worker.
