Kindness Kit #4: Gratitude
THe following is a Gratitude lessons designed to help your children on their journey toward happiness and positivity!
Create a Gratitude Jar:
Print out these cards and tags.
Find a bucket or jar, or reuse a yogurt container. Decorate it however you want! Use construction paper, twine and ribbon, stickers, paint…the sky is the limit! You can use the quotes and “Gratitude Jar” tags provided to decorate your jar as well.
Each day, everyone in your family should think of one or more things you are grateful for and write (or draw) it on the card to place in the jar.
When you are having a bad day, pull out the cards from the Gratitude Jar and remind yourself all you have to be thankful for!
Young kids tend to show their gratitude for objects and/or people in their lives, which is a great place to start! To encourage your kids to think beyond the obvious tangibles in their lives, use the following Gratitude Prompts. Focus on a new prompt each day- you may find you learn a lot about each other!
