Please join us after story-time at the Springfield Public Library for a fun preschool friendly craft. We will be making fall scarecrow decorations for the Ronald McDonald House. Our decorations will hopefully bring some uplifting cheer to the families who are staying at the RMH while their loved one receives care at Riverbend hospital.

We painted the dinosaur last month with “Be Yourself Green” but ran out of time to decorate with paint so will be using this session to help make it a little more colorful. Please ensure you are wearing clothes that can get dirty and paint on them.

Please join us at the American Legion Post 83 where we will be making ‘Thank You’ cards to put on the dining room walls of the American Legion building for the 4th of July. Additional cards will be mailed to veterans in November for Veterans Day.

Post 83 is home to approximately 500 members across its entities supporting veterans and the local community with many charitable events that are held each year.

It’s an early school release for Springfield schools. Come down to the library during their craft time to help assemble craft bags for the Lunar New Year event happening later this month. There will be crafts available but would appreciate your assistance to help Oregon Multigenerational Community Center put together bags to hand out at the event on the 28th.

The Lane County Diaper Bank is a nonprofit working to end diaper needs in our community. If you have the ability to bring extra diapers or wipes, your donation will be much appreciated. Diaper packages can be donated even if they are opened, but not wipes.  We hope you can join us for this meaningful and fun event for kids of all ages.

Each year the RMH tries to reach their goal of 3,000 Valentines to hang on their house walls to show families that they are not forgotten. We hope you can join us for this meaningful and fun event for kids of all ages.

Please join us for this year’s Carrot Festival a the GrassRoots Garden. This event is always a wonderful close to the garden year, and a time when the friends and families of GrassRoots gather together to enjoy some friendly competition, good food, and connection.

The event starts at 10:30 for mingling and selecting the best carrot pulling spot.  At 11am sharp, everyone starts harvesting carrots, and searching for the biggest, longest and most unique.  As the judges judge the entries, we’ll enjoy delicious carrot-ginger soup, carrot cake, hot chocolate and warm crusty bread as we review what we’ve accomplished in the year.

All winners receive sweet and homey carrot related prizes!  It’s fun for the whole family.

Come carol with us at the annual Light the House event at the Ronald McDonald House. Every year the RMH transforms the House into a festive place for families who are staying there, away from home, during the holidays. Come bring cheer to the house and the families too! There will be treats, tomato soup and their famous grilled cheese sandwiches at the party. All ages are welcome! Hope to see you there!
