Many of our volunteers have shared that they wish they could attend our Happy Helpers classes but that the Tuesday morning time does not work for their children’s schedule. With that in mind we have decided to host a Happy Helpers Bonus class on Wednesday, April 8th at 1:30 pm at Avamere nursing home near Waterford Grand. Please join us on April 8th at this new time and new location as we use watercolors to paint envelopes for Sunday Friends, a nonprofit which supports low income families in the Silicon Valley area. Hope to see you there!

Help us make doggy tug toys for the animals at Greenhill Humane Society. We will also be getting a special visit from Greenhill’s Event and Community Engagement Manager, Megan Brezovar and maybe an animal guest as well!

Join us for our annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. We will have crafts to take home and treats to enjoy together with the residents.

Please join us as we make “Thank You” posters for the fire fighters who serve our community everyday. We will be getting a visit from fire fighters from local stations and there will be an opportunity to see a firetruck up close! Come help us show gratitude to these community helpers!

We are so excited to be partnering with Eugene’s International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (IWRC) which is lending support by collecting messages of gratitude and encouragement for those working to rescue wild animals caught in the Australia bush fires. We will be making supportive cards for the Australian wildlife rehabilitators and then the IWRC will ship them to the appropriate groups and organizations. Please join us in supporting the Australian community.

Join us as we make uplifting cards to send to children who have been hospitalized.

The African Library Project changes lives book by book by starting libraries in rural Africa.  Their grassroots approach mobilizes U.S. volunteers, young and old, to organize book drives and ship books to start or improve a library in Africa.  Their method makes a concrete and personal difference for children and communities on both continents.

Join us for a fun Valentine’s Day party with the residents. Take home a craft and share some Valentine treats with us!

Little Hands Can is partnering with the Lane County Diaper Bank to host a Diaper Drive on February 4th! Our collection site will be at Happy Helpers but feel free to drop any diapers or wipes off early with Rachel or Ashley. For those of you attending Happy Helpers, on February 4th, we will also be repackaging diapers and painting one of the Lane County Diaper Bank’s donation barrels! Please come out and support this wonderful nonprofit!

Please join us as we make essential oil rice heating pads to keep our residents warm this winter season.

We will be painting envelopes (with watercolors) for "Sunday Friends" a nonprofit that empowers families to break the generational cycle of poverty by fostering positive development in children while educating and guiding parents to support their children's life success. Join us in the new year at Happy Helpers when we make Valentines Day cards for a nonprofit Send a Smile 4 Kids which will send our cards to kids in hospitals on Valentines Day next month.

Our nonprofit will be making about 400 holiday cards to go on the pillows of each bed at the Eugene Mission. Please join us at Happy Helpers this week as we make cards for the people who stay at the Mission during the holidays.

Today at HH we will be reading stories and singing Hanukkah songs as well as forming bags of individual toothbrushes, toothpastes and travel-sized shampoos to donate to the families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Springfield, OR. Any donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Let’s share what we are thankful for together! It’s easy to always focus on what we want but today at Happy Helpers we will talk about what we already have that we are thankful for. Help us spread an attitude of gratitude!

Come make easy and tasty dog puzzle toys for the Anti-Cruelty Society who takes care of rescue dogs. These fun toys keep the animals busy and entertained while they are waiting in the shelter for a home.

Join as we decorate pillow cases and make cards for our Veterans with the residents at Waterford Grand.

Come trick or treating with us at Waterford Grand! Wear your costume if you'd like and please bring one or more items to donate to FOOD for Lane County for our annual Halloween food drive.

Join us as we paint teal pumpkins for the Teal Pumpkin Project which brings awareness to food allergies during trick or treating time. We will also make Halloween signs for the residents' doors.

Help us make some fun pumpkin-shaped centerpieces for the Waterford Grand residents out of beads and pipecleaners.

Join us as we make birthday cards for a nonprofit called Box of Balloons. Box of Balloons sends boxes filled with items for a birthday celebration to children who might otherwise not have a birthday party.

Please join us as we make fun and colorful, glass bead suncatchers for the seniors at Waterford Grand.

Please join us as we make fun catnip toys for the rescued felines at our local Greenhill Humane Society.

Today’s Happy Helpers will include a preview of our new Young Yogis Service program, which launches on Saturday, September 21st. We will also be decorating placemats for Meals on Wheels. Don’t miss out on this fun and unique Happy Helpers!

Our Happy Helpers program is back and we will be making some colorful Kindness Rocks to leave in our community. Come join us for ice cream, friends and spreading kindness!

Together, this school year, we put in over 1,000 hours of volunteering to benefit 17 different organizations. We will be giving all the children a thank you gift as well as a chance to choose toys from our prize box. We will also be running through the large water fountain in the back of Waterford Grand so please bring water friendly clothing for your kiddo(s).
