Lesson(s) learned: I can help Mommy, just as Mommy helps me every day.

How we did it:

Kids, listen up! Mother's Day is Sunday, May 14, 2017! Most Moms really like to be surprised with breakfast in bed on this special day. Below are some super easy ideas for you to choose from. They've been tested with a 3 year old doing most of the work. Daddy can help with the hot steps or if you'll be doing it on your own, pick the options without burners/ovens. Add this booklet we posted last year and you'll have your Mommy tearing up with love.

Love You Toast - Stick bread slices in the toaster, toast, wait a few minutes for the toast to cool down before removing from toaster then place onto plate. Smear peanut butter and drizzle honey on top. If your Mommy is a chocolate lover, spread with nutella instead of the peanut butter and honey. Cut out with heart cookie cutter (or any other shape of your choosing). Add sprinkles if you want.

Dreamy Waffles - Get a pancake/waffle mix and make according to package directions. With Dad's help, pour into waffle iron to cook then place onto plate to cool off. Top with whipped topping and sliced strawberries.

Parfait Saves the Day - In a pretty glass, layer plain yogurt, tiny drizzles of honey, and granola. If you don't have plain yogurt, just layer vanilla/strawberry/flavored yogurt and granola. Make it even more special by adding a layer of blueberries or diced strawberries.

Have a favorite easy breakfast? Maybe it's instant oatmeal, scrambled eggs, muffins? Make it! Then add a side like those below.

Fruit Delight - Wash and dry strawberries, grapes, or blueberries. Peel and slice a banana. Most fruit is easy to prepare. Pick your Mom's favorite and add it to her breakfast plate. Want something fancy? Use a melon baller to scoop out cue little balls of cantaloupe or honeydew.

Hard Boiled Eggs - Stick some eggs in a pot, add cold water to cover the eggs. Have Daddy help put it on the stove and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to LOW and simmer for 5 minutes then turn the heat off but leave the pot on the stove for another 10 minutes. Run under cold water and you've got eggs cooked to perfection.

Add a drink like those below and you're set.

Squeezed with Love OJ - Slice oranges in half then squeeze out the juice into a glass.

Sweet Smoothie - To a blender jar add a handful of spinach and a banana. Toss in any frozen fruit you have. Frozen strawberries, blueberries, mango chunks, and peach slices are all good options. Add a few ice cubes too. If your Mommy uses protein powder, add a scoop. Pour in milk (we use cashew milk but any milk will work). Blend and pour into glasses. To make it extra special, add some whipped topping and sprinkles.

Do those drinks sound too complicated? Just fill a glass with water from the faucet.

Put all the breakfast that you made on a tray. Add your completed booklet and take it into your Mom. Don't forget to give her a hug and kiss and tell her "Happy Mother's Day! I Love you Mom!" She'll love it!
