Simple Service: Stuff Easter Eggs (Event Recap)

At a public event last week, Little Hands Can helped stuff eggs for the upcoming Willamalane MEGGA hunt.

A quick google search shows article after article teaching how to raise kids who do not feel entitled. Many professionals advise having kids take initiative and teach them to do more for themselves. This activity, I felt, was a perfect opportunity to have a lesson on that very issue.

Before the event I explained to my girls that we were going to be helping Willamalane stuff their 10,000 eggs for their MEGGA hunt. This brought about a meaningful conversation about how when we attend public parties (like egg hunts), a lot of people put a lot of work into making it happen. I explained that today we were going to help with the preparations for one of the many events that we enjoy. By the end of the conversation, both girls seemed genuinely interested in making a difference.

My two year old especially loved stuffing the eggs. It was the perfect, age-appropriate activity for her.

My four year old also enjoyed the process.

Special thanks to all of the families who came to help! So many sweet hands making a difference!

I'm excited to take my girls to the egg hunt and remind them of the work they put in and the work that so many others put in as well!
