Last week Little Hands Can helped the City of Eugene lay mulch around the newly planted trees at Filbert Meadows Park. Nineteen people braved the weather (which miraculously cleared up the second before the activity started) and came to help.
The kids filled up buckets and wheel barrows of mulch, hauled them to the trees, spread out the mulch, and repeated over and over again. They had smiles on their faces as they enjoyed the afternoon at the park.
Later that night, my five-year-old said, "Mom, can we do that same activity again?"
