Thank you to everyone that donated! Together you raised $870 for Little Hands Can in just one month. Your contributions mean so much to us and will help us continue providing service opportunities in 2016.
Remember the giveaway that went along with our celebrating becoming a 501(c)3? We have a winner! The giveaway for a free service party went to Dana! She'll be getting a service party in a box to use with her grandkids. More details on the contents of her box after we see exactly what would fit her best.
Now that Halloween is out of the way, I can gush about all the fun holiday events we have planned for you. I am so excited about them! Now, before all you non-Eugene/Springfield folks sign off, I better tell you that we have a service opportunity for everyone no matter where you live.
Without further adieu, the events of Little Hands Can until the end of the year:
Wed, November 4, 4-6pm at Old School. We'll be decorating gloves for children at Womenspace. Think monster claws, finger puppets, flowers and more. Drop-in and serve wih us!
Tues, November 24, 2:15-3:30pm at Eugene Mission. We'll be preparing the Thanksgiving feast alongside seniors. Kids and seniors, with our powers combined, we are....CAPTAIN THANKSGIVING! Too cheesy for you? Well, just come. It's a short one. Free registration here.
Next up are our 2 fundraisers:
Sat, December 12, 9-11:30am at Old School. Breakfast with Santa! Drop-in for yummy food (seriously, we've got a great sponsor for some super delish food...name of restaurant to be announced once things are finalized), pictures with Santa, and helping us make Christmas cards for the Eugene Mission. We're only asking for a suggested donation of $5 so bring your friends, tell your neighbors. Register here to save your spot.
Sat, December 19, 10am-10pm at Barnes & Noble. Come buy a book at Barnes and Noble and we'll wrap it for you or at least come chat with us. Miriam and I will be at it all day so please come see us! Sign up to help us wrap here.
And one last Little Hands Can event for the year. Out-of-towners listen up, we need you on this one too!:
Tues, December 22, 11am-12pm at Cafe 60. We'll be caroling to the seniors eating lunch at Cafe 60. Free registration here. Remember those fall placemats from LHC in the Park at the end of the summer? They were such a hit at Meals on Wheels that they asked us for more for the holidays. We were happy to oblige and asked if the kids could deliver the placemats and if we could throw in some caroling while we were there. We were all so excited about the idea. So, we need your help. Please, oh please, print off some of these placemats. Click on the image to get a PDF for better print quality. Your regular 8.5"x11" printer paper will be fine. Don't like ours? Find or make your own. Have your kiddos color them in. Bring them with you to this event or mail them to: Little Hands Can, 2410 Gilham Rd, Eugene, OR 97408. They must arrive by Dec 21st.
See? I told you that our national audience wouldn't be left out. Anyone can color placemats and send them in. How many do you think we'll get? Meals on Wheels will be so thrilled!
Come serve with us!
