Service Party in a Box

You may remember that in October to celebrate our 501c3 status, we decided to have a drawing for a Party in a Box for anyone who donated during that month. Dana, a friend of Little Hands Can, was the lucky winner. Discussing details with her, we customized a service party for her to do with her grandkids while traveling over Christmas.

Here, I want to tell you a little about the party in a box:

The box contains

  • A lesson plan which outlines ways to explain to children why service is important, what a women's shelter is, and how we can serve.
  • Step by step directions on how to make gloves.
  • Ordinary Mary's Extraordinary Deed: A children's book about service.
  • All of the supplies to make the gloves with preliminary prep work completed.

All of these supplies fit nicely into a large cereal box for Dana to bring on her vacation with her grankids.
